I Have Zero Testimonials (Here's My Plan)
Learning How to Ask Without Feeling Weird About It
Hey Friends,
Sitting here looking at my empty testimonials section. Yep, completely empty. And you know what? That's okay – because it means I get to learn this together with you.
My Current Situation
Yesterday, I froze when someone asked about client success stories. Truth is, I haven't got any. Because it’s still early on in my journey and we aren’t there yet. But that doesn’t mean we can’t develop a game plan to collect them.
What I'm Planning to Try
After some late-night research (and lots of tea), here's my simple plan:
Start taking notes after each client call about wins they mention
Ask if I can share their specific wins when they happen
Keep it real and unscripted
First Small Step
This morning, I started a "Wins Journal" in my Notes app. Just quick bullet points of positive moments clients share. Baby steps, right?
The Scary Part
Next week, I'm going to ask my first client if I can share their story. My hands are sweating just thinking about it!
Tomorrow's Challenge
Going to draft my first "can I share your story?" message. If it's not too cringe-worthy, I'll share it with you.
Your Friend, Scott
P.S. Are you nervous about asking for testimonials too? Reply and tell me I'm not alone in this!
