The Day I Stopped Pretending to Be an Expert
What Happened When I Admitted "I Don't Know"
Hey Friends,
This morning, I deleted half my X profile. Yes, really.
Gone are the fancy buzzwords and the "thought leader" claims. Why? Because yesterday someone asked me a question about personal branding, and instead of pretending to know, I said, "Actually, I'm figuring that out too. Here's what I'm learning..."
Their response floored me.
The Unexpected Win
They didn't run away. Instead, they said, "Finally, someone who's honest about this stuff!" We ended up having a real conversation about our struggles.
What I'm Testing
Instead of positioning myself as an expert, I'm documenting my:
Current experiments
Recent failures
Small victories
Daily questions
Today's Discovery
Shared a post about my biggest content creation mistake. It got more comments than any "how-to" post I've written this month.
The Plot Twist
Turns out, authority might come from being real, not from being perfect.
Tomorrow's Challenge
Going to share the spreadsheet where I track my content fails. Scary? Absolutely. Necessary? We'll see.
Your Friend, Scott
P.S. What's something you're still figuring out? Reply and let's learn together!
